Peacefully at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Thursday, September 5, 2024, Allan, aged 70 years, former surveyor with Bureau Veritas, greatly loved husband of Sheila, much loved dad of Laura and Grant, dear father-in-law to Jonathan.
Funeral service in Eric P Massie Funeral Directors Chapel, 76a High Street, Inverurie on Tuesday, September 24 at 2.00pm, to which all friends are respectfully invited, thereafter cremation private. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if so desired at chapel door in aid of Air Ambulance.

Fell (Oldmeldrum) Sheila, Laura, Grant and Jonathan would like to thank relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues
for their kind support, cards, messages, phone calls, visits and flowers after the sad passing of Allan.
Thanks also to Jan Hughes for her comforting service and to all at Eric Massie Funeral Directors for their support, kindness
and help with the funeral arrangments. Also to Lochter for their refreshments.
Thank you to the air ambulance crew, A & E and ICU staff at ARI for the skill, dedication and care given to Allan.
We were very touched and comforted by those who paid their last respects at Allan's funeral on Tuesday 24th September
and due to their generosity in Allan's memory £1200 has been raised for the Scottish Air Ambulance. Thank you.

What should I wear?

We normally associate wearing black with going to a funeral. But it is increasingly typical for families to express a preferred dress code. Our advice is to look out for information from the family in a notice published either in newspapers, online or in the funeral director window to advise you of their preference.

How long does a service last?

Typically a service in most churches or crematoria lasts around 20-30 minutes. A formal mass may take a little longer and we would expect this to be nearer an hour. Finally, burials can vary in length as they are weather dependent.

Where should I sit?

Family and close friends typically reserve the first couple of rows in a service. We recommend sitting nearer the front than the back of a service space in order to support the family and enabling late arrivals to discreetly fill back rows.

Where should I send flowers?

Often a family will express a preference for flowers - or charity donations in lieu of flowers. We recommend you keep an eye on notices posted in newspapers, or online or in the funeral director window so you are able to follow their wishes.
