The easing of restrictions in June 2021 and a return to regional tiers will influence how many people can attend a funeral.
In Scotland, level 1 areas can host up to 100 people maximum and for those in level 2, the upper limit remains at 50 – a list is below for reference. For English funerals, the upper limit has been removed altogether. However, as social distancing of 2m is still required throughout the UK, crematoria, churches and funeral homes offering service space may actually set lower limits that the maximum allowed enabling them to accommodate the 2m rule safely.
Face coverings remain mandatory and singing rules, which are relaxing in tier one or below, will have to be risk assessed by individual venues.
Even in the toughest of times, we’ll create memorable and safe farewell events. Two events stand out as examples: digital tributes and live streaming from the crematorium to a drive-through funeral with movie screen and live streaming to the 50 or so cars and occupants. Both funerals carefully designed to safely enable friends, family and neighbours to say goodbye to those they love. Let us help you when you need it the most.
