Eight years after handing the keys to William Purves, our Inverurie branch Eric Massie is updating its brand logo to reflect their identity.

The 59 year old firm retains the historic legacy and trusted reputation in the community, whilst reinforcing its current ownership: Eric Massie, Part of the William Purves Family.

Eric Massie will join 26 other branches operating under the William Purves umbrella, an independent family-run firm recognised for delivering the highest standards of funeral care nationwide.

Ian Thomson, the Inverurie Branch Manager, said of the rebrand:

“This is a major milestone for the Inverurie team, which has been serving local families under William Purves for eight years now. This same team: Sharon, Rona, Connor and myself, will continue to offer the same level of care and support, with a new nationally-recognised brand name.

“Having been part of the legacy Eric Massie team, I have seen first-hand the positive impact of being part of the William Purves’ brand, including investment in our silver fleet including the launch of a bespoke Land Rover Defender hearse, ongoing staff training and technology to ensure webcasting from our service rooms to livesteaming at gravesides.”

The transition will serve to streamline William Purves’ brand identity, creating consistency across all its branches in Scotland and north-east England.

Tim Purves, Chairman of William Purves Funeral Director, added:

“We are incredibly proud to have supported bereaved families in Inverurie since acquiring Eric Massie in 2016. It was an honour to be trusted to take over the business, and now, 8 years on, it feels right to incorporate the William Purves name to recognise the remarkable work of the team locally.  They’re part of our family and with professional input across all our branches, it’s important we share who we are clearly so families have reassurance of our shared values.

“We’re committed to help support local families in and around the Inverurie area with the highest quality of funeral care now, and in the future.”
